WE ARE MODERNISING!
The Museum of Hamburg History is currently being modernised and is therefore temporarily inaccessible. The building will be refurbished form the beginning of 2024 and the permanent exhibition will be redesigned. New special exhibition rooms as well as areas for educational work, the shop and catering will be created. The museum will remain closed to the public during the modernisation work.
MISSION AND GOALS
The Museum of Hamburg History (MHG) is facing major challanges and important changes. It is being modernised for the future in order to meet ghe growing demands. Our overarching goals are greater accessibility, inclusion, accessibility, sustainability, digitality, diversity and participation. All of these aspects are of great importance. They must be harmonised and integrated into everyday museum life.
Museumsdienst Hamburg (Museum Service)
The Museum Service is the central visitor service for our museums. The Museum Service offers: dialogical guided tours with and without practical elements, children’s birthday parties, city tours and socio-spatial offers. In many museums, guided tours and children’s birthday parties are also held in German sign language. On this page you can search for group offers in International Sign directly under the video. Here you can book a guided tour with your own group on your preferred date in the museum of your choice. There are also public guided tours in German Sign Language – please ask for it. Public guided tours take place every month at fixed times in various museums. I would be happy to advise you on our offers in German Sign Language and International Sign.
