Online-Talk with Altonaer Museum & Museo Atelier Giuditta Brozzetti
How can traditional textile crafts be preserved and carried forward into the present and future? Founded in 1921, the Museo Atelier Giuditta Brozzetti in the heart of Perugia preserves and promotes the traditional art of weaving in Umbria. Today it’s situated in the former church of San Francesco delle Donne, now in its fourth generation.
In conversation with the founder’s granddaughter and current director of the museum Marta Cucchia, and Hamburg-based textile designer and weaver Nicole Kiersz, who also integrates digital techniques into her projects, we seek to find the common thread between tradition and innovation in the art of weaving.
The online talk in English will take place on the occasion of the special exhibition “So this is Home?” (until March 16th 2026) at the Altonaer Museum, Hamburg.
