A new highlight for Hamburg’s cultural scene

The “Kultur Kontor Hamburg,” located in the newly built “Johann Kontor,” adds nearly 700 square meters of space to the diverse range of exhibitions along the Klosterwall and Hamburg’s Art Mile.

Starting in the summer of 2026, Stiftung Historische Museen Hamburg (SHMH), in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Media and the container logistics company Maersk, will utilize the area located between the Deichtorhallen Hamburg and the Hamburger Kunsthalle, and across from the Kunsthaus Hamburg and the Markthalle Hamburg, to offer a diverse program of exhibitions and events to Hamburg’s residents and visitors from around the world.
